A Warning About Job Offers Falsely Attributed to LALAL.AI

We won’t dance around this: fraudsters are impersonating LALAL.AI to run a hiring scam, and we want every job seeker, our partner, client, and follower to hear it from us directly, in plain terms.

Here’s the pattern we’re seeing. People are receiving unsolicited invitations to complete a “technical assessment” for a role at LALAL.AI, even though they never applied to us and, in some cases, never even applied to whatever recruiting platform the invitation came through. The message typically arrives from a generic-sounding “Talent Team” or “Hiring Team,” sent from a domain that has nothing to do with LALAL.AI, referencing a specific-sounding job title to lend it credibility. Somewhere in that process, they say that in order to unlock the assessment or get certified, you need to pay.

None of that is how we hire, and LALAL.AI isn’t part of this process.

Before you read any further, let’s settle one thing: if anyone asks you for money before you’ve actually been hired, that’s a 100% hiring scam.

How to Tell If a Job Offer Comes from LALAL.AI

🔴 We never ask candidates for money. Not for assessments, not for certifications, not for onboarding kits, not for anything. If a message asks you to pay to be considered, interviewed, or hired, it did not come from LALAL.AI.

🔴 We don’t require outside certifications to apply. If a “recruiter” tells you that you need to purchase or complete some third-party certification before moving forward, that’s not a LALAL.AI process; it's a red flag.

⚪️ Every legitimate email from our team comes from our official domain (@lalal.ai). If the address looks close but not quite right (containing extra letters, a different extension, a lookalike spelling), treat it as fraudulent and don’t engage further.

⚪️ We post open roles in exactly one place: our official channels. We don’t have a Careers page on our site yet, but if we do post job openings, they appear on our official LinkedIn page, and, occasionally, we share them on our other social media channels: X, Instagram, Reddit, and Facebook. We don’t run hiring campaigns through random job boards, Telegram groups, or unsolicited direct messages promising quick remote work.

What LALAL.AI’s Actual Hiring Process Looks Like

It’s fairly typical, honestly. You apply through a listing on our official LinkedIn page. If there’s a fit, someone from our team reaches out from our domain to schedule a conversation. We talk, sometimes more than once, sometimes with a practical task relevant to the role. If it works out, we make an offer. Nowhere in that sequence does anyone ask you to open your wallet.

If You’ve Been Contacted

If someone has approached you claiming to be from LALAL.AI and asked for payment of any kind:

  • Don’t send money, card details, or crypto, regardless of how convincing or urgent the request sounds.
  • Save the messages, the email address, and any payment details they provided.
  • Cut off contact.
  • Reach out to us so we can flag it and, where possible, get the impersonating account or page taken down.

We take this seriously, and we’re actively working to get fraudulent listings and profiles removed wherever we find them. But scams like this tend to move faster than takedown requests, so the best protection is simple awareness: real opportunities at LALAL.AI never come with a price tag attached.
