How to Reduce Background Noise in Audio
If you're recording a podcast or video, removing background noise is a must because it can make your audio sound much more professional and polished. Noise canceling also makes it easier to hear and decipher speech when you're transcribing an audio recording. In addition, noise removal helps people with hearing impairments better understand the audio and what's being said.

Follow the simple steps below to remove background noise and other unwanted sounds from your audio.
- Open LALAL.AI Voice Cleaner.
- Click Select Files to upload your audio file. The service supports MP3, OGG, WAV, FLAC, AIFF, AAC, M4A formats.
- Wait a few seconds until the audio is processed.
- Click (▶) next to the Voice preview. You will hear a portion of the voice or vocal sound separated from the background noise.
Noise Canceling Level controls how much a quiet voice is raised after the noise has been removed, so a higher level makes a quiet voice easier to hear in the preview. This setting is located to the left of the previews. The setting has three levels: Mild leaves the voice at its original level, Normal raises a quiet voice moderately, and Aggressive raises a quiet voice noticeably more.
After that, click the Create New Previews button.
- (This step applies only to premium users) Select the output format. If you want to get the results in the same format as the file you uploaded, skip this step.
- Clean up the track in full. Below the preview section, select either Starter (Free) or one of the paid packs.
- Sign up and click the Split in Full button.
- Click the download icon (⤓) within the Vocal [Full] section.
If you want to export the results in another format, click the arrow on the Split in Full button and pick a format from the drop-down list.
If you selected the Starter pack, you will be able to listen to the entire track online.
If you’ve selected the Lite or Plus pack, you will be able to listen and download the full track.
The resulting file will be downloaded in the same format as the file you originally uploaded, unless you performed the fifth step. The download links will also be sent to your email.
